One question about the use of the preposition with the word effect.
ex) The temperature effect on/ in the activity was studied.
I have been checking several scientific paper and sometimes they use in and others on. I don¢¥t know wheter it depends on the context or it is a mistake and only one of them is correct (on appears more frequently) thanks

On. The effect of temperature on the activity was studied.
Basically the choice of preposition depends on the context, but "in" is used more often with living things, although in that case "on" is also appropriate. For example: The effect of diet in/on children. |
